The Arctic and Antarctic

In our options lessons we are exploring the geography and natural history of the Arctic and the Antarctic . 

 

The two websites below have lots of information, images and videos to help you learn more about both continents .

There are also lots of fun learning activities to try - we've included links to two of them to get you started .

You can find lots of different activities to try out on these  websites .

This activity helps you to imagine what live is like live in the Arctic .

This  activity explains how animals adapt to living in extreme weather conditions .

Famous Polar Explorers 

Ernest Shackleton and Captain Robert Falcon Scott were both famous British Polar Explorers in the early 20th Century 

Even though it is over a hundred years since they led their expeditions to Antarctica their base camps still stand and you can use the links to the right to explore them .

Can you imagine what it would have been like to be a member of their expedition ?  Would you have made a good explorer ?
